A WINNING WEEKEND AND NOW FOR A STRONG FINISH!

BACK IN THE WINNERS CIRCLE NOW LOOKING FOR A STRONG FINISH!

A WINNING WEEKEND AND NOW FOR A STRONG FINISH!

As we get to the pointy end of the home and away season the next 3 weeks will be tough and all teams need to be bringing their ‘A’ game to get the job done. It was another round with not everyone playing, and it will be good to have a week where all our teams get to take the field.

Friday night started the round for the Rising Stars Men. After a sluggish start and 7 points behind as they went into the quarter time break, the men were able to work together and were up by a couple of points at both the half time and 3 quarter time breaks. A great last quarter again this week saw them kick away to secure the win.

The 3rd Grade Men were at home at Holt and played the Goulburn Swans. Goulburn are sitting in 3rd spot on the ladder and were just too strong on the day for our Men. The 2nd half saw the team rally and create some opportunities with goals from James Milne, Joel Gordon and Matt Hunter. The team will make their way into snow country this weekend when they play the Southern Cats.

The 2nd Grade Men’s team played the Gungahlin Jets and won by 110 points. Whilst not a great spectacle, it was a good hit out for the group and the goals were equally shared around between 12 players. In a wonderful example of sportsmanship 8 players from BMFC helped Gungahlin field a side so that the game could be played.

The 1st Grade Women once again had an incredibly strong win against the Gungahlin Women. Gungahlin have had a very hard year and whilst our Women won easily, they again showed their opposition the respect they deserved. Haylee Scholes made her debut this week and was presented with her jumper by Shae Krushka. Congratulations Haylee.

The 1st Grade Men did not have the game they had hoped for, and certainly did not win by the margin they know they are capable of. It will be good to see a more focused approach when this group take on the stronger teams in the competition over the next three weeks and get back to playing clean, fast, skilful football - the way that we are accustomed to seeing them play.

Player Profiles

This week we get to know a little bit more about ‘Clegan’ and ‘Shaneo’. Both full of energy, a smile to die for and always putting their best foot forward. BMFC is lucky to have these 2 legends pull on the black, white and teal each week.

CLAIRE ‘CLEGAN’ EGAN – Full of energy and our Park Run expert, Claire has the perfect blend of pace, endurance and strength to be a constant defensive presence, closing down her opponents, winning the ball and driving her team out of the backline! Her on-field communication is key to her team setting up defensive structures and turning defence into attack.

SHANE 'SHANEO’ KOETZ – Shaneo is always smiling! Loves his footy, loves his friends and generally love life. Shaneo is our 3s captain, leading from the front! He has a never give up attitude on the footy field and his known for his hard work and tenacity. He loves contested footy, often fighting for possession and making key plays to advance his team!

PLAYER SIGNATURE DISH

Each week we’ve ask our players to share their signature dish. Some of them were so good that we thought, why not get them to share the recipe with us. Shae Krushka has shared her ‘Best Ever Ramen' recipe 🍜. Let us know if you give it try!
