A TOUGH ROUND THROUGH A WINTERY BLAST!

WELL THAT ROUND WAS A BIT COLD ⛈️❄️

A TOUGH ROUND THROUGH A WINTERY BLAST!

With only 4 teams playing over the weekend, the other 3 teams would have been very pleased for the weekend off. The weather was terrible and did everything but snow! Congratulations to everyone who played, everyone who volunteered and coached and a massive thank you to everyone that left the warmth of their homes to cheer our teams on!

Friday night started the round for the Rising Stars Men and Women. The Men secured a great win after a very close match against Ainslie. Nothing separated the teams at each break, but an excellent final quarter saw the lads kick away and secure a 20 point win. This now puts them a game clear in second position with only 4 games remaining in the home and away season. The Women were up against Queanbeyan at Aulich Park on Friday night. The girls tried hard all game with no bench but were convincingly beaten by a very strong opposition.

The 2nd Grade Women’s and Men’s teams experienced the worst weather we have seen this season. To say it was miserable would be an understatement. The Women’s match could only be described as a muddy slog fest. With only 3 scoring shots to both sides, it was Ainslie that were able to get the upper hand and convert their shots to a couple of goals. This group should be very proud of the way in which they play in these challenging conditions, in addition to the way in which they conduct themselves on and off the field.

The 2nd Grade Men played hard all day and were very unlucky to come up short against a strong Ainslie team with a number of their regular 1st grade players named in their side. The Men had a crack, were committed and focused but with only 1 goal scored by Matt Viney for the game it was a disappointing end.

Player Profiles

This week we get to know a little bit more about a couple of siblings that play for the Club. Neither leave anything out on the field, bring their ‘A’ game every single time they put their brightly coloured boots on and are all that family means at BMFC. So the question is … who do you think is the better Simpson?

TOM ‘TOMMO’ SIMPSON – Determined, competitive and resilient and some would say he’s JB’s shadow. Mature beyond his years but young at heart. He is q role model and inspiration for the rising and emerging stars of the Club, leading the way and giving his all. He will never fly under the radar in those bright boots!

JORJA ‘JORJ’ SIMPSON – With a penetrating run through the mid field, there is nothing sweeter than watching Jorja running full pelt into goals. She’s BMFC’s own ‘Little Miss Positivity’, always upbeat, always enthusiastic and always the 1st to get around her team mates … she’s also Queen of the kids at Kippax!
