View this email in your browser A BIT OF A MIXED BAG THIS WEEK It was another weekend kicked off at the Nest under lights and it was absolutely stunning! The Rising Stars kicked things off and enjoyed another Friday night under lights. The Womens team fought hard against Queanbeyan but went down to the better team on the night. The Mens team had an impressive win and continue to build momentum as the season progresses. The 1st Grade Men were very impressive against the ladder leaders and held off a late last quarter challenge to be convincing winners. The 1st Grade Women’s team were soundly beaten by a very strong Queanbeyan and will be working hard to better this result the next time they meet. The 2nd Grade Men couldn’t find the intensity they played with last week and were pipped at the post after coming home hard and outscoring Queanbeyan 3 goals to 1 goal in the final quarter. The 2nd Grade Women also came up against a strong women’s team and just couldn’t match the game that Queanbeyan played. The 3rd Grade Men hit the road again and travelled to Cootamundra to play the Cootamundra Blues. The team was very lucky once again to travel together in buses provided by Canberra Toyota. They were also supported by a team of supporters who ran water, goal umpired and cheered the boys on. Thank you! ROUND TEAM RESULTS 1st Grade Men - BMFC 15.7  97 defeated Queanbeyan 10.10  70 1st Grade Women - BMFC 0.4  4 defeated by Queanbeyan 9.9  63 2nd Grade Men - BMFC 7.4  46 defeated by Queanbeyan 7.11  53 2nd Grade Women - BMFC 1.1  7 defeated by Queanbeyan  7.7 49 Rising Stars Men - BMFC 15.13  103 defeated Queanbeyan 2.2 14 Rising Stars Women - BMFC 1.4  10 defeated by Queanbeyan  3.6  24 The Rising Stars Men are on the road this week and will play Batemans Bay under lights on Saturday afternoon, starting at 4pm at Hanging Rock Sportsground. The 1st & 2nd Grade Men & Womens teams and the Rising Stars Women are up against Tuggeranong this week at the Nest, with the Rising Stars Women playing on Friday night at 5:30pm. 1st Grade and 2nd Grade Womens and Mens games commence at 9:00am on Saturday. The 3rd Grade Men will play the Yass Roos at 2:00pm on the outside oval. Player Profiles This week we get to know a little bit more about a couple of young guns in the Club, Zac ‘Zacco’ Smith and Shae ‘Eshay’ Krushka. SHAE ‘ESHAY’ KRUSHKA - Shae missed the 2023 due to injury but she is back with ALL her pace and running skills this year! Shae was part of our very first Youth Girls premiership and also part of the 2020 winning team! Bit of Nick Daicos to Shae’s run out of halfback! ZAC ‘ZACCO’ SMITH – A 2023 premiership player who also played in the Under 22s rep games earlier this year. Zacco is cool under pressure, some would say the most relaxed person in the Club! Don’t let him fool you though, he is a serious talent. Read More Coaches Corner - Rising Stars Women This week Barry has given us an update on the season so far for the Rising Stars Women.  The Rising Stars Women are combining all aspects that make footy fun this year to help them grow as resilient, energetic young footballers. The ladies are doing well in season 2024- keep it up! Man Cave/Movember session Our men’s teams participated in a very important education event at the Nest on Tuesday night. It was informative, powerful and empowering and showed the support they have for each other. Man Cave is a preventative mental health and emotional intelligence charity that empowers boys to become great men. Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. They know what works for men – and what doesn’t. Thank you to Board Member Ash Madgwick for bringing this together and providing the platform for continuing education and learning for our players. Women’s Coaching Month - June During June, AFL NSWACT recognised Women’s Coaching Month.
