The teams all enjoyed a break from playing over the weekend with a bye before the 1st week of finals begin. The finals will be played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday over the coming weekend, so there are plenty of opportunities to get out to the games and see our groups doing their very best.
6 of the 7 BMFC teams will play this weekend starting on Friday night with the Rising Stars Women and Men. The Women will play Tuggeranong at Alan Ray Oval at 5:30pm in the Elimination Final. It’s a must win and we know they will bring their best to the game.
The Rising Stars Men have the double chance after securing 2nd spot on the ladder and will play Eastlake at Aulich Park at 7:15pm. The lads will be looking for the win in the Qualifying Final. All games between these 2 teams have been very close with the Magpies boys winning 2 of the 3 matches.
The 1st Grade Women are up against Queanbeyan in the Qualifying Final on Saturday morning at Aulich Park commencing at 10:45am. The games against Queanbeyan over the season have been tough and this will be no different, but the form the women have been showing over the back end of the season has been impressive and now is their time to shine.
Sunday will see the remaining BMFC teams all play at Alan Ray Oval in Elimination Finals. 2nd Grade Women will start the day at 9:00am against Tuggeranong. Matches between the 2 teams have been pretty even, so the ladies need to bring their very best. The 2nd Grade Men are up against Queanbeyan at 12:30pm in their must win game. The final quarter against Eastlake in the last round was excellent and the boys need to take this momentum into this game and get back to their winning ways.
The 1st Grade Men will play Eastlake in their must win game. The battles between these 2 teams have always been fierce and this will be no different. The way the Men played in the final game of the home & away season was inspiring and we look forward to seeing a high quality match that sees our boys come away with the win and continue in their campaign for back to back premierships.
